Saleem

Saleem (سليم) is an Arabic nutrition and healthy-weight app. It builds a flexible weekly meal plan around your calorie needs and goal, using everyday local dishes, and tracks daily calories and macros, water intake, and weekly weight, with a nutritionist a chat away. We designed and built the mobile app for iOS and Android.

The Challenge

What we were up against

Most diet apps are built around foreign foods and rigid rules, which is exactly why people drop them. Saleem set out to make healthy eating feel doable in Arabic, with a flexible plan built from the food people actually eat at home.

That means the app has to do real nutrition work: build a weekly plan around each person's calorie needs and goal, then track daily calories and macros, water, and weekly weight, all in one place people return to every day.

And it had to keep a human in the loop. A nutritionist chat gives users guidance and accountability, so the app supports a habit rather than just logging numbers.
