Mufeed

Mufeed is an on-demand home services marketplace, built for Save the Children as their first social enterprise to support families and their kids. Families book plumbing, cleaning, painting, pest control, electrical work, repairs, and moving from one app. Vetted craftsmen pick up jobs, send quotes, and track their earnings in another. We built both apps, the admin dashboard, the marketing site, and the backend.

The Challenge

What we were up against

Mufeed was Save the Children's first social enterprise, so it had to run like a real business, not a pilot: families requesting help on one side, craftsmen earning a living on the other, and a team operating the marketplace in between.

Home services are messy to coordinate. A family picks a service, schedules a time, and shares photos of the problem, while a craftsman browses jobs, sends a quote, and tracks what he has earned. All of that had to feel simple on a phone.

And it had to feel modern and trustworthy from the first launch: fast screens, live updates, and clear pricing, so both sides stay.

Our Approach

How we solved it

1

A Family App and a Craftsman App

Families browse services (plumbing, cleaning, painting, pest control, electrical, repairs, and moving) and book a time. Craftsmen get their own app to pick up jobs, send quotes, and manage their schedule.

2

Booking, Quoting, and Getting Paid

A step-by-step booking flow captures the job and its photos, fixed-price and quote-based services sit side by side, and craftsmen track balance, payouts, and weekly and monthly earnings in one place.

3

Modern Apps on a Solid Backend

Both apps are built on Expo with React Query and Rive animations, over a NestJS GraphQL backend with Prisma, Redis queues, S3 storage, and Firebase push. An admin dashboard and a Next.js marketing site round out the platform.
