What does this cost?

A monthly fee based on your stage and how much time you need. A pre-seed team getting half a day a week pays less than a Series A team that needs a CTO in board meetings. Three-month minimum, then month-to-month with 30 days notice. Book a call and we send the scope and the number in writing.

How is this different from hiring a consultancy?

Consultancies write decks. We own outcomes. We sit in your standups, review your code, talk to your investors, and make the calls a CTO would make. When something breaks in production, we are the name on the escalation.

Question 3

Do you write code, or is this advice only?

Accepted Answer

We write code when it matters. Critical reviews, hiring tests, unblocking an engineer, proving out an architecture choice. The goal is the team shipping, not billable hours. Most weeks that means more advising than coding.

Question 4

What does a normal week look like?

One or two founder calls, async availability in Slack, a weekly engineering review, and regular time with anyone a CTO would manage. Once a quarter we do a deeper strategy session with the leadership team.

Will you help us hire the full-time CTO who replaces you?

Accepted Answer

Yes. That is often the goal. We run the technical interviews, write the job spec, shortlist candidates, and hand over a clean codebase and a documented roadmap. A lot of our engagements end in a confident hire, not a rushed one.

Can you talk to our board or investors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We have written board updates, answered investor due diligence, and joined pitch calls as the technical voice. We do not pretend to be your employee, and serious investors prefer the honesty.

We are pre-product. Too early for a fractional CTO?

Accepted Answer

Too early for full-time, not too early for one at all. Getting the stack, hiring plan, and first weeks of architecture right before you raise saves you the rewrite most seed-stage teams end up doing at Series A.
